BRAC University was established in 2001 by BRAC, the world's largest NGO, with a vision to nurture world-class professionals, development practitioners and researchers who would be ready to tackle local and international development needs of the twenty-first century.
With 11,000 students and 400 faculty, BRAC University provides liberal arts undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by its four schools, seven departments and three institutes. The languages of instruction is English. The University endeavors to prepare graduates with the attributes needed to achieve professional excellence, with a commitment to make valuable contribution to economy and society.
The Inaugural Vice President, International will spearhead the creation and fostering of international activities that support teaching, learning, research, and engagement throughout the university. Furthermore, the position entails designing international student and scholar services, domestic and international student services, program and research initiative development, faculty collaboration and coordination, international partnerships, campus events and activities, marketing and communication, data collection, as well as working with international universities, institutes and research centers. The Vice President, International, is expected to have in-depth knowledge on issues relating to comprehensive internationalization within the context of higher education, teaching and learning, and international research funding and collaborations. As a strategic leader, have the ability and determination to advance and promote international awareness of faculty, students, and staff; and increase the university's presence and recognition globally.
Candidates at national and international level, who have an earned doctorate degree and a record of scholarly achievement with significant international engagement and leadership experience, are strongly encouraged to apply.
