Vacancy Announcement for a Communications Officer
Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies- BIDS
*BIDS is urgently looking to hire a Communications Officer to support a complex set of needs related to internal and external communication, dissemination of research, website content development, organization of workshops and conferences, data base development and media relations. The ideal candidate should have a relevant degree at the post-graduate level in information, media-communications, journalism, Bengali literature, English literature, business management or a development related discipline. She/ he should be fluent in written and spoken English and must also have a good command over Bangla in order to be able to develop high quality content for the website and for other publications. Computer literacy in Microsoft office is essential along with familiarity with web-based communication strategies/ social media like twitter and Facebook. Prior exposure to the print/ electronic media sector will be considered as an additional qualification.
Salary and benefits are negotiable, and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial contract will be for six months but will be renewed subject to satisfactory performance. The CO reports directly to the Director General.
