UNIVERSITY OF DHAKA: Applications in prescribed form, obtainable from the office of the Registrar are invited from Bangladeshi nationals for filling up 05 (Five) permanent posts of Assistant Professor in the Department of English, University of Dhaka. Three (03) more temporary Lecturers may be appointed against post of Lecturer if consequential vacancies arise.

Pay scale: 
For the post of Assistant Professor Tk. 35,500/- - 67,010/-
& for the past of Lecturer Tk. 22,000/- - 53,060/-

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: 
Candidates must have First Class or in case of CGPA 3.50 out of 4.00 in both BA (Honours) in English & Master's in English Literature of Master's in Applied Linguistics and ELT of an equivalent degree from a foreign university with minimum GPA 4.25 out of 5.00 in both SSC & HSC Examinations. They should have at least three years of teaching experience in a university together with 03 (three) research publications in standard journals. Experience and performance as a teacher as well as significant contribution to different areas of university activities especially in guiding the overall educational and co-curricular activities of the students will also be treated as qualifications. Other qualifications being equal, preference may be given to those who have a PhD degree.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POST OF LECTURER: 
Candidates must have CGPA 3.$0 out of 4.00 in both BA (Honours) in English & MA in English Literature or MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT or an equivalent degree from a foreign university with minim GPA of 4.25 out of 5.00 in both SSC and HSC examinations, Preference will be given to candidates with English Literature degrees and other qualifications being equal preference may also be given to those who have higher degrees.

Eight copies of applications together with attested copies of certificates, testimonials, mark-sheets and proof of experience along with a Pay Order Bank Draft of the value of Tk. 750/- (Seven Hundred & Fifty) only, payable to the Registrar, should reach him on or before 27/01/2020.

Salary Scale: 

TK. 22,000 - 53,060 / - for Lecturer post (National Salary Scale 2015)

Lecturer Qualifications:

Candidates must have a B.A. in English. (Honors) and M.A. in English Literature or Applied Linguistics and English Language Education. Candidates should have B.A (Hons) and M.A. degree. Must have In both the examinations, first class or in case of CGPA, a minimum of 3.50 out of 4.00 or an equivalent degree from a foreign university is required. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 5.00 out of 5.00 in both SSC and HSC examinations.

Preference may be given to candidates with a degree in English Literature and a higher degree if other qualifications are equal.
