Research Associate (RA) and M.Sc. (Thesis) Positions

Applications are invited from qualified and motivated candidates for one (01) Research Associate and four (04) M.Sc. (Thesis) research positions under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project (PIN 13742), funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh and being implemented at the Department of Chemistry, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur. The sub-project focuses on developing Schiff-base modified nanomaterials (MNPs) for removal of heavy metal ions, organic dyes CO2 and N2O from industrial waste and conversion into eco-friendly substances in Bangladesh.
Areas of Research
Synthesis of novel Schiff bases (SBs) and nanomaterials (NMs);
Characterization of synthesized SBs and NMs using UV-Vis, ATR-IR, NMR, SEM, XRD, XPS etc;
Investigation of NMs performance for the removal or conversion of heavy metal ions, organic dyes CO2 and N2O into sustainable substances;
Catalytic activity evaluation and water quality improvement assessment;
Prepare for effective technology transfer from R & D to manufacturing site;
Eligibility Requirements
RA/Postdoctoral: PhD, in Synthetic Chemistry/Material Synthesis or related field.
MSc (Thesis): Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
Prior research experience in organic and inorganic synthesis is preferred.
Strong computer skills.
Applicants must meet the PhD/MSc admission requirements of the Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.

Monthly stipend and research support as per HEAT Project guidelines.
Opportunities for training, collaboration and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
